I asked these questions because I had lived the answers. As a child who once wished for death after experiencing sexual abuse, as a young mother bedridden for seven years with a debilitating illness, and as a woman who had to rebuild life after twenty-six years of marriage—I knew what it meant to walk through the darkest valleys and wonder if light would ever return. And I knew the power of faith, grace, and relentless courage to climb out—stronger, wiser, and more whole every time. Through it all, my faith never wavered; even in the darkest hours I prayed, “Not my will, but Thy will be done.”

I began mentoring women and teens when I was still a teenager—walking with others through the trauma of sexual abuse. By seventeen, I had learned to forgive the man who had hurt me, and that forgiveness set me free to help others do the same. Since then, for more than thirty years, I have walked alongside thousands—guiding them as they discovered the power to turn grief into grace, fear into faith, and despair into strength. As they allowed God to transform pain into purpose and faith into freedom, I witnessed these transformations again and again—because when faith takes root, healing follows.
